In 2017, the former Social Equity and Diversity Education Office (SEDE) organized McGill's first ever institutionalized Black History Month.

This year, we have built on its success in collaboration with the Black Students' Network of McGill to bring a jam-packed month of events on the theme of Resistance.

Activities for BHM 2018 include an Opening Ceremony on February 1st featuring a keynote by Robyn Maynard; Community & Family Day on campus featuring workshops, activities, and discussions; SPEAK B(L)ACK, a poetry and open mic collaboration with Kama La Mackerel; panel discussions with Black faculty, scholars, and community members; and a whole lot more!
