Biography: 

Calder Spanier was a popular jazz sax and composition student at McGill who subsequently went on to tour Europe, Asia, and North America, first as a busker and later as a Blue Note recording artist. This prize, established by family and friends, is to be given by the Schulich School of Music to a talented music student who demonstrates commitment to performing and composing in a range of musical styles.
