2017 Accounting Recruitment Campaign

Wednesday, August 16, 2017toWednesday, September 20, 2017

All Cont. Studies students who want to participate in the Accounting Recruitment must be registered with CaPS for the Fall 2017 session by paying the $70 CaPS fee plus applicable taxes in person at the CaPS office (Brown Bldg, 3600 McTavish St., Room 2200) in order to participate in the September campaign. The CaPS fee entitles you to all activities, workshops and specialized programs provided by CaPS. Becoming a member of the Desautels Accounting Society (DAS) is a separate process.  DAS membership is $25 which includes the handbook and cocktail.  DAS registration begins on September 5th in the Bronfman lobby.

Once you have registered at CaPS you will have access to myFuture and can register for the firm tours.

Procedure for registration for CPA Recruitment firm tours via myFuture https://caps.myfuture.mcgill.ca/students  (under Events > Information Sessions) opens Friday, August 25Space is limited and registration is on a first come, first serve basis so don’t wait to sign up!  Firm tours begin as of September 5.

***Whether it be firm-tours or the Recruitment Cocktail, company-run events are an essential step in the recruitment process for most firms.  They are not only designed for you to learn about the company, but also for the recruiters and employees to get to know you and see if you are an interesting and committed candidate.  It is therefore crucial that you take part in these events.  If you do not, this can seriously impact your chances of getting an interview.***

• You MUST be dressed in business attire.

• You MUST attend all the events that you have registered for.

• You MUST register with DAS in advance if you will be attending the cocktail (limited space!).

• Your DAS membership fee includes attendance to the Cocktail (it must be paid for in advance).

IMPORTANT!!  Be sure to check the ‘DESCRIPTION’ section of each event that you register for, as it may contain important information (e.g.: city-specific firm tour, additional details regarding location/floor, etc).  Dates and times are subject to change/cancellation so it is your responsibility to review the event posting regularly and stay informed!
