Days of Service: Food Preparation with Happy Belly
Want to serve in the community and connect with fellow McGill students? Come join us for a food preparation activity at Happy Belly! The club is volunteer-powered, fueled by creativity, and cooks FREE delicious vegan meals for students. You will cook together for the free food distribution the next day.
The placement starts at 4:30 and ends at 8pm, with dinner included! (Food preparation is usually 4:30-7pm, followed by dinner and clean up.) You will meet on the 2nd floor of the Centennial Centre (21111 Lakeshore Road St Anne de Bellevue, QC H9X 3V9) at Mac Campus. If you take the McGill shuttle, it stops right at the back entrance of the Centennial Centre.
Even if you are a Downtown student, you are highly encouraged to participate! Happy Belly leaders offer to meet at 3pm to take the shuttle with you to Mac, and then take the last shuttle back to Downtown at 6:15. This way Downtown students avoid having to take late night public transit.
If you volunteer for 4+ hours/semester, you can get CCR recognition, which you can add to your CV. If you volunteer 10+ hours/semester, you will be acknowledged as a club volunteer.
Once you sign up, you will receive a confirmation email a few days before the placement.
