Join us to learn more about the project of Illumination of the Jacques Cartier Bridge! All McGill students and staff from all Faculties are welcome!

Designed and developed by a team of local artists and engineers, as part of the 375th anniversary of Montreal and the 150th anniversary celebrations of Confederation, the “Living Connections” project – a work of illumination for the Jacque Cartier Bridge, establishes a world class, interactive and dynamic new visual signature for the city’s skyline.

With the successful completion of the illumination project, the Jacques-Cartier Bridge becomes the first ever “connected” bridge in the world. Thanks to intelligent programming, the iconic structure is activated in real-time and reflects the millions of connections and moods, both human and natural, across the Montreal landscape. Night after night, the bridge’s monochromatic light changes shades and colors, and blends according to the changing seasons, sharing the moment with those watching it.

Catherine Tremblay, Senior Director, Constructions and Operations and Sylvain Maltais invite you to learn more about this exciting project; from its preliminary concepts to becoming a multi-disciplinary world-class endeavour and the technical challenges encountered and overcome throughout the process.
