Willie McDonald, from Cape Breton, studied
Applied Science (Engineering) at McGill during 1896-97.
In letters to his father, Senator William McDonald (1837–1916),
Willie provided a snapshot of his attitudes, impressions, and travails.
This presentation relates Willie McDonald's experience
to student life in late nineteenth-century McGill.
