McGill alumni webcast: The role of startups in the time of COVID-19

Thursday, July 23, 2020 12:00to13:00

Are start-up businesses the key to reviving a sluggish COVID-19 economy? In contrast to traditional business models, start-ups have the ability – and agility – to quickly adapt to changing market conditions by introducing new products, leveraging technological advances and reinventing delivery methods.

Join us as we explore the challenges and potential of startup ventures with a panel of leaders, mentors and graduates from the McGill Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship, and learn how an exciting new gift from the Dobson Foundation promises to boost opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs across the University.

With:

Marie-Josee Lamothe, Academic Director, Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship; and Professor of Practice at McGill’s Desautels Faculty of Management.

Dino Di Palma, BA’90, Chair of the Advisory Board, Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship; and Member of G20 Ventures, providing early-traction capital for technology startups.

Ophelia Sarakinis, FMT’19, Founder of Vertité, a startup urban farm cultivating fresh strawberries in Montreal’s West Island.
