Kathy Kennedy is a renowned Montreal-based artist and educator. A founding member of the feminist media art collective Studio XX, her work is widely regarded for its careful integration of technology, performance, and practices of deep listening.
In this workshop, participants will be guided in an exploration of what it means to orient oneself through an aural (or ear-based) experience of space. Together, we will ask: How do we develop a more careful attunement to the sonic environment? And what possibilities does this open up for us in our teaching, learning, and creative practices?
No musical training is necessary. The session will last roughly two hours, and weather permitting will be held outdoors.
