Voice Masterclass with renowned Mezzo-soprano Catherine Daniel (guest)
This workshop will give voice students of the McGill Conservatory an opportunity to gain valuable experience and insight from performing and receiving another perspective on technique and interpretation.
About Ms. Daniel
Ms Daniel of Edmonton studied voice with Coluratura soprano Tracy Dahl at the University of Manitoba. She was a member of the Atelier Lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal, and later became a member of the Opera Studio Nederlands. Career highlights include debuting Klytemnestra in Edmonton Opera’s production of Strauss’ Elektra, singing Elisabetta in Knoxville Opera’s production of Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda, and debuting at Carnegie Hall as a soloist in Haydyn’s Mass in Time of War. Last season Ms. Daniel sang Emelda Griffiths in the Canadian premiere of Terrence Blanchard’s Champion with Opéra de Montréal. She also returned to Knoxville to sing Santuzza in their production of Cavalleria Rusticana. Ms Daniel is thrilled to have sung in two recital engagements in the fall and to make her Opera Tampa debut in Carmen singing the title role..
