CIRM welcomes six new members and a resident scholar

As approved by its board of directors, the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on Montréal (CIRM) now counts five new members within its research-action axes:

• Tassos Anastassiadis—Associate Professor, Department of History and Classical Studies, McGill University; research interests: intersection of religion and national identity in Greece and in a diasporic environment, impact of transnational educational networks in the Mediterranean on human mobilities and social transformations, issues of social integration and disintegration in post-imperial societies;
• Claudine Déom—Associate Professor, School of Architecture, Université de Montréal; research interests: history of architecture, immigration, conservation of cultural heritage, history of conservation in Canada, and rehabilitation of existing spaces;
• Karim Larose—Associate Professor, Department of French-Language Literatures, Université de Montréal; research interests: Québécois poetry, historical poetry, literary archives, plurilingualism and poetry;
• Marie Leconte—Consulting Editor, Versacom and Ph.D. in English Studies, Université de Montréal; research interests: Canadian literature, translation theory;
• Caroline Loranger—Postdoctoral Scholar, Department of Literary Studies, Université du Québec à Montréal; 19^th and 20^th century Québec literature, popular and mass culture, imaginary of literary genres, literature and media, theory of the novel, “radioroman” and radio literature, reception aesthetics, history of the French language, cultural history, relationship between language and literature;
• Jess Reia—Assistant Professor, School of Data Science, University of Virginia; science and technology studies, critical data studies, intellectual property, urban governance, night studies.

…and a new resident scholar:

• Kelsey Blair—Assistant Professor, Department of English, Concordia University; research project: three vectors of “ordinary spectacles” and their effects on the cultural industries in Montréal between 2000 and 2022.
