Construction start: Currie Gym - Renovation of classrooms W305 and W409

McGill University has mandated Immobilier Belmon to carry out the following project: Currie Gym / 16-140 - Renovation of classrooms W305 and W409.

The project consists of the upgrade of classrooms W-409 and W-305 at Currie Gym to improve the learning experience, including new seating arrangement, Audio-Visual equipment, and lighting.

Construction start date: August 14, 2023

Planned construction end date: April 30, 2024

Work schedule: Mondays to Fridays, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Scope of work:

The work at the Currie Gym will include asbestos remediation, electromechanical work, repairs of interior finishes, lighting and AV replacement.

Impact:

There will be limited access from the fourth floor to staircase 4-Stair3 during the asbestos removal (two weeks). The emergency exit will remain accessible.
