The Health and Social Services Community Leadership Bursary Program continues to grow each year. In order to measure the program’s impact and to ensure that it is fulfilling its primary mission (better access for English-speaking communities in Quebec to healthcare and social services in their own language), the management of Dialogue McGill has commissioned Dr. Marie-Pierre Gagnon, a professor in the Faculty of Nursing at l’Université Laval, to conduct follow-up surveys twice annually with both the bursary recipients and their sponsoring community networks. As time goes on, the number of recipients who have completed their academic studies continues to increase and monitoring their further career paths makes it possible to concretely measure the effects of the Program on access to English-language services in Quebec’s regions. Thus, “the data obtained as to their plans for the coming months suggest a positive future for the Bursary Program.”
