Negotiation Update: AMUSE (Floor Fellows)

Since June 8, 2021, the parties have met 5 times in the presence of the Conciliator appointed by the Ministry of Labour.

The parties have engaged in exploratory and detailed discussions regarding the inclusion of Student Housing and Hospitality’s principles and values in the collective agreement, the guest sign-in policy for staff, and the number of guests permitted in an employee’s room.

Although the parties have had the opportunity to express and clarify their views and positions with the assistance of the Conciliator, agreement on these topics has not yet been reached. The parties were invited by the Conciliator to suspend further discussions on these topics for now and to move on to monetary proposals. The Union presented its monetary proposal, and the Employer will reply at the next meeting, scheduled for October 1, 2021.
