McGill University will be hosting the 85th annual congress of the Association francophone pour le savoir (Acfas) on its campus in the heart of downtown Montreal from May 8-12, 2017.

The theme of the congress, Vers de nouveaux sommets, looks toward the exciting discoveries and novel research of today and tomorrow, while acknowledging the pioneering and innovative work of the past – a nod to anniversary celebrations around Montreal’s 375th and Canada’s 150th that coincide with our event.

On Sunday, May 7, Acfas will be hosting an Open House at the Macdonald Campus Farm, where work done by some of Macdonald's researchers will be showcased.  Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend.

Acfas is a Quebec-based non-profit organization promoting science in all disciplines, including humanities and social sciences, as well as interdisciplinary research. Its annual congress brings together some 5,000 or more French-speaking researchers from around the globe – indeed it is the largest French-language activity of its kind in the world.
