The Policy Group at the Department of National Defence (DND) is currently conducting its 2016-2017 recruitment campaign for the Policy Officer Recruitment Programme (PORP).  We will visit McGill University on 30th November from 2:00 to 3:00 to present these programmes to students and the broader academic community.

The PORP is a three-year programme designed to recruit and develop talented individuals to meet the unique demands of the defence policy environment, and become well-rounded Public Servants. Candidates selected for a PORP position are offered an indeterminate position with DND.

To apply to the PORP, candidates must be Canadian citizens and possess at least a Master’s degree in the fields of history, political science, international affairs, public administration, law, economics, sociology, or other security and defence related disciplines, with a 75% average or above in their graduate studies. Knowledge of current Canadian defence policy, as well as domestic and international security/defence issues is also essential. Candidates must be proficient in English or French.
