La version française suit

In celebration of the city’s 375th anniversary of Montreal, Collection Services will be showcasing digitized Montreal rare maps held by our Rare Books and Special Collections from May 11-22.

There will be a touch-table exhibition on display in the McLennan - Redpath bridge, as well as a few posters of maps representing the city’s history of development.

These fragile maps, ranging in size from a few inches to 9 feet long, were carefully digitized using the Better Light large format camera located in Rare Books and Special Collections. The maps were catalogued by Collection Services as part of an ongoing project targeting rare Canadian maps. The project was spearheaded by Margaret Blandford (Collection Services) and Greg Houston (Digital Initiatives).
