The Office of Sponsored Research (OSR) is pleased to invite McGill faculty members and administrators to an information session on the FRQSC’s Start-up Program for New Researchers.

The purpose of this program is to support a new generation of researchers who have just launched their career to become established as independent researchers and to become competitive nationally and internationally.

New Researchers in the fields of Social and Human sciences, fine arts and who are planning to apply to the upcoming FRQSC Start-up Program for New Researchers Professors competition (2013-2014) are encouraged to attend this information session.

Eligibility Conditions for Applicants:

1. To have a doctoral diploma (or an attestation of the submission of their dissertation)

2. To hold a regular position in a Quebec University that will lead to tenure by the time the project begins. The total duration of all tenure-stream appointments combined cannot exceed five years by the competition deadline.

3. To be Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada, or provide proof that the process to obtain permanent residency has been initiated with Citizenship and Immigration Canada

4. To never have been funded under one of the following programs: FRQSC "Établissement de nouveaux professeurs-chercheurs"; FRQS "Chercheurs boursiers" & "Établissement de jeunes chercheurs"; FRQNT " Établissement de nouveaux chercheurs"

NOTE: Each candidate may only apply three times to this program during their eligibility period and may only be funded once
