PhD Oral Defense of Walaa A. Mumena, School of Dietetics and Human Nutrition

Food insecurity has been linked to children’s diet, health and growth, but the link is less clear in upper-income developing countries, including those in the Caribbean. This study aims to investigate the association between food security indicators and nutritional health among school-aged children in two Caribbean countries for which there is a dearth of recent nutritional data. The growing problem of obesity was also addressed as well as anemia as a potential marker of dietary insufficiency.

Everyone in the McGill community is welcome to attend a PhD oral defense. Please join us in celebrating the accomplishments of our PhD candidates.
