Appointment of Jon Salsberg at University of Limerick, Ireland

Published: 27 March 2017

Dear colleagues,

Jon Salsberg will be leaving the Department of Family Medicine to take up a permanent position as Senior Lecturer (associate professor equivalent) in Primary Care, at the Graduate Entry Medical School, University of Limerick, Ireland. Jon’s major task in the first couple years of this new appointment will be to create and launch an MSc/PhD program in public and patient involvement in primary care research.

Jon has been with the Department of Family Medicine since 2006. He was a founding member of Participatory Research at McGill, serving as Associate Director to Founding Director, Dr. Ann C Macaulay. With Ann, he co-created and taught FMED 603 and 604 – Introductory and Advanced Participatory Research in Health, and developed and delivered numerous CME, faculty development and community workshops on patient and community engagement in health research.

Jon will be departing from his current appointment as Banting Postdoctoral Fellow in Family Medicine, and leaving for Ireland in July, but will continue to collaborate with colleagues at McGill.

We want to congratulate Jon on this exciting appointment and look forward to his continuing collaboration and friendship with our department.

Sincerely,

Gillian Bartlett and Howard Bergman
