Biography

Jonathan Elston is an accredited mediator and graduate of Concordia University, the University of Amsterdam and McGill University.

Jonathan runs a private practice in conflict resolution called Montreal Mediation Services, offering conflict coaching, consulting, training and mediation services to the public. He is also the co-founder of Mediate to Go, an innovative web app that helps professionals and members of the public effectively manage conflict with the use of technology. Jonathan has led various interventions to address complex workplace disputes in governmental, corporate and academic settings. He has been a guest lecturer at the United Nations, Auckland University, McGill Faculty of Medicine, McGill Faculty of Law, Department of Justice and several corporations and non-profits. Jonathan will soon be published in the Journal of Arbitration and Mediation of the University of Dalhousie and University of Sherbrooke (2015).

Jonathan developed subject-matter expertise in industrial relations through both union and management-based experiences, learning various approaches to address disputes to ensure the best interests of all parties involved based on a conflict resolution perspective. Jonathan has years of local and international-based volunteer experience, including with Canada World Youth, Corrections Canada, the United Nations, Mediation at McGill, the McGill Journal of Dispute Resolution, the Canadian Union of Public Employees and the ADR Institute of Canada.
