Biography

My 40 year plus career with McGill University started a senior computer programmer analyst just when computers were coming into prominence in the 60’s. In this capacity I headed the university’s financial systems development team for about 15 years then moving on to the administrative side of the university’s operations as Budget and Payroll Manager. Here I used my intimate knowledge of both IT and functional knowledge to streamline and integrate best business practices into these vital administrative support areas. With the introduction of the PC, I became the area’s expert in both Microsoft Excel and Access often given in-house training courses at various levels.

In addition, over this entire period, I have held a part time teaching appointment as a Course Lecturer for both the Faculty of Management and Continuing Education. I am the course coordinator for Information Systems, an introductory IT course. This course has both an extensive practical side, currently using Excel and Access as a management analysis and reporting tool, along with theory side of IT in today’s global, fast paced environment.
