The Bieler School of Environment team teaching model is unusual in that it involves a sustained dialogue among two to three instructors representing a range of disciplines and perspectives throughout each of the seven core courses with each faculty present and engaged throughout the course. This format of classroom instruction assures that undergraduate students quickly recognize the multiple perspectives that surround each topic under discussion. It helps the students to see both conceptual and real‐world connections, and the intangibles of culture and philosophy that underlie disciplinary approaches. The students witness the process of interdisciplinary dialogue, discussion and debate.
