Department of Family Medicine well represented in newest Health Science Inquiry 2014

There was a high representation of students and faculty of Family Medicine in the newest issue of the graduate student journal, Health Science Inquiry. Congratulations to Cristina Longo, Doaa Farid and Hani Badran who were all reviewers along with Pierre Pluye. Alex Fletcher was a reporter for this issue and original submissions were published for Vladimir Khanassov, Maedeh Khayyat Kholghi (on the MSc program) and Emily Parkinson.

Success of McGill Family Medicine in latest FRQS salary award competition !

We have wonderful news to share with you. Once again we have a great deal to be proud of in the Department of Family Medicine.  

The results from the Fonds de recherche Santé-Quebec (FRQS) have been announced and we would like to congratulate the members of our department who have been successful.  These competitions are very competitive and few are actually successful in obtaining these salary support awards.

Dr. Gillian Bartlett-Esquilant receives the Carrie M. Derick Award for Graduate Supervision and Teaching

Dr. Gillian Bartlett-Esquilant has been selected as this year’s recipient of the Carrie M. Derick Award for Excellence Graduate Teaching and Supervision. The Award and a citation will be presented at Spring Convocation. The recipient receives a plaque, and his/her name is inscribed on a permanent plaque in the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies Office.

Dr. Ann C. Macaulay CM MD FCFP, steps down as Director of Participatory Research at McGill

I want to take this opportunity to honour and thank Ann C. Macaulay, CM MD FCFP, who was the founding Director of Participatory Research at McGill, for her decades of service and commitment to primary care and community health.  I am delighted that Ann continues on in our Department as Professor of Family Medicine and that we will continue to benefit from her mentoring, expertise, and experience.

2013 Isaac Tannenbaum Resident Research Day!!!
