Dear colleagues,

The 2016 Tri-Agency Financial Administration Guide came into effect on October 1, 2016. For ease of use, we have summarized the changes – please refer to the attached document.

Changes made to this year’s guide supersede previous versions. We would like to draw your attention to two changes:

1. Home internet charges

  • This is now considered a non-eligible expense.
  • No new retroactive claims can be processed for a researcher who now realized that he could have claimed it in the past.

2. Computers, tablets, modems, etc.

  • While the purchase of these items remain an eligible expense, adequate justification establishing the need in relation to the funded research is a requirement of purchase.

Please contact me directly for any questions.

Thank you.
