Preceding the 2017 Gonthier Memorial Lecture on June 23, the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law, in collaboration with the McGill Journal of Sustainable Development Law, is offering an opportunity for students and practitioners to have in-depth discussion about international sustainable development law.

The afternoon symposium will honour the late Judge C.G. Weeramantry, of the International Court of Justice, through a series of panels relating to principles of sustainable development law and justice.

The event will be concluded by a celebration of the 2017 release of Sustainable Development Principles in the Decisions of International Courts and Tribunals, co-edited by Justice Weeramantry and Prof. Marie-Claire Cordonier Segger. Symposium participants will have the chance to hear from and engage with several of the book’s authors, exploring the expanding international jurisprudence incorporating principles of sustainable development.

Registration is free. Any questions or requests for accommodation for any accessibility needs may be directed to julia.redmond [at] mail.mcgill.ca.
