Renovations | McLennan second floor & integration of Education materials into main collection

Over the course of the Winter 2018 and Summer 2018 semesters the Education Collection, currently housed on the second floor the Humanties and Social Sciences Library, will be integrated into the main Humanities and Social Sciences Collection in the McLennan Library Building. This project will increase the visibility and browsability of the Education Collection and will create space for over 100 new study seats.

Please note that during this time period, users will have limited access to certain materials and see increased traffic in the McLennan stacks. Noise will occur in affected areas.

FAQs

What exactly will change? When?

  • Space – The Education Collection will be integrated into the Humanities and Social Sciences Collection on the 3rd, 5th, and 6th floors of the McLennan Library Building.
  • Collections & Resources – During the months of February through August, materials may be in temporary locations. Items will still be available upon request. Users trying to locate materials should not hesitate to ask a staff member for assistance.  All efforts will be made to create clear signage and help will be available at the Information Desk.

Why is the Education Collection undergoing this change?

Integrating the Education Collection with the rest of the materials in the Humanities and Social Sciences Library will increase visibility and browsability for education materials. This project will also create space for over 100 new study seats.
