About Us

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics is located in Burnside Hall on McGill's downtown campus in Montréal (Québec). The Department boasts an impressive faculty of leading researchers in a diverse range of fields including Algebra, Algebraic Geometry, Analysis, Applied Mathematics, Category Theory, Combinatorics, Differential Geometry, Differential Equations, Discrete Mathematics, Mathematical Physics, Number Theory, Probability, and Statistics. 

To respond to the differing needs of our students, a full range of undergraduate programs and courses are offered through the faculties of Arts, Science, and Management. Masters and Doctoral programs in Applied Mathematics, Pure Mathematics and Statistics are available to students wishing to pursue graduate studies.

To support our students and staff, the Department offers a state-of-the-art computer network available for research and educational purposes. The Department's Statistical Consulting Service provides statistical advice to faculty and students both from within the Department and throughout the University.
