Faculty and Grads of Schulich nominated for the 56th Annual Grammy Awards

This year three members of the Schulich family are up for Grammy awards: recent graduates Esteli Gomez, and Brian Losch, as well as Prof. Matt Haimovitz.  While at Schulich, soprano Esteli Gomez studied with Prof. Sanford Sylvan.  Her ensemble,  Roomful Roomful of Teeth's self-titled debut album,  has been nominated in three categories- Best Engineer for Classical Album, Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance, and Best Contemporary Classical Composition for Caroline Shaw’s Partita for 8 voices.  Sound Recording Program Graduate Brian Losch  has been nominated in the category of Best Engineered Album, Classical for Winter Morning Walks.   Brian Frost, producer of the musical story book  Angel Heart, which was performed by Professor Matt Haimovitz  and his student group UCCELLO with singers such as Frederica von Stade, Daniel Taylor (also a McGill music grad) and others, is nominated in the Best Producer category .  

The 56th Annual Grammy Awards will be held broadcast live on Sunday, January 26, 2014,  starting at 8:00 p.m.on CBS Television.  Good luck to our nominees!
