Juno Nominations for Schulich Alumni

The nominees for the 2016 JUNO Awards were announced by The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) at a press conference in Toronto yesterday morning.  Schulich alumni and faculty who are up for awards including:  

INSTRUMENTAL ALBUM OF THE YEAR  Legacy Live Jens Lindeman, BMus'88 (Independent)

CLASSICAL ALBUM OF THE YEAR: SOLO OR CHAMBER ENSEMBLE  Berlin Sonatas, Elinor Frey DMus'12 (Passacaille*Naxos); Mendelssohn: Op. 44 nos. 1, 2, Cecilia String Quartet GDDP'11

CLASSICAL ALBUM OF THE YEAR: LARGE ENSMEBLE OR SOLOIST(S) WITH LARGE ENSEMBLE ACCOMPANIMENT  Symphony and New Works for Organ and Orchestra Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal with Olivier Latry and Jean Willy Kunz (Analekta*Select);  Tomasi, Desenclos, Jolivet:  French Trumpet Concertos Paul Merkelo, faculty, Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, (Analekta*Select)

 The 45th annual JUNO Awards will be broadcast on CTV on Sunday, April 3, 2016.
