The Schulich School of Music at Faculty Matters

Published: 10 February 2022

The Schulich School of Music was featured at the Faculty Matters discussion series on December 13, 2021 which was hosted by Angela Campbell, Associate Provost (Equity and Academic Policies).

A brief interactive discussion was had about the History of Jazz with Prof. and Dean Brenda Ravenscroft and Prof. Camille Thurman who provided her experience as musician and academic.

The video team which included Stewart McCombie and Jonathan Roy, were both an integral part in setting up sound check and connecting to the Zoom feed.

The Mike Bruzzese Trio (Michael Bruzzese on guitar, Raphael Agustin on bass, and Jacob Wutzke on drums), featuring Prof. Camille Thurman on saxophone indulged the audience with their performance. This event was organized as a way to thank McGill co-workers who worked through a turbulent year and showed an incredible amount of resilience throughout.

Take a moment to enjoy the wonderful music-making by Schulich faculty and students in the YouTube video.

Launched in May 2020, Faculty Matters features a lineup of McGill colleagues working in disciplines and Faculties across our campuses who lead discussions of relevance at this particular time.
