Pathology is uniquely conducive to executing clinical, translational, and basic biomedical research because it is one of the only fields that involves the whole body. At the simplest level, tissue can be mined for data, but there are also deeper questions that can be asked, like what are the molecular entities involved in disease initiation and progression? Unlocking this fundamental understanding can pave the way for studies into disease treatment and prevention.
Our department engages in collaborative and interdisciplinary research to investigate the causes and consequences of human disease, spanning all scientific disciplines of biomedical research.
