European Centre of Excellence: The European Centre of Excellence (EUCE) was inaugurated on October 2, 2000. It is a joint venture of the Université de Montréal and McGill University. The Institute, just as the other three created in Canada in the year 2000 (Carleton University, University of British Columbia, York University-Toronto University), is supported by the Commission of the European Communities.
