International Partnerships

McGill researchers are engaged in hundreds of collaborations around the globe. Research collaborations are typically self-selected by individual faculty members whose curiosity and dedication to a given subject area has allowed them to develop research networks over the course of their careers. These researcher-to-researcher collaborations are at the core of McGill’s international research reputation. With that in mind, the International team assists the McGill research community by:

  • providing support for existing and emerging international research collaborations
  • overseeing the Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) process with international partners
  • assessing unsolicited proposals from foreign universities and directing them to the appropriate faculty/department
  • serving as the point of contact for Canadian and Quebec government departments responsible for international relations
