Optimizing Research Funding Infosession for the Faculty of Engineering

Tuesday, March 27, 2018 14:00to16:00
James Administration Building Room 301, 845 rue Sherbrooke Ouest, Montreal, QC, H3A 2T7, CA

A similar infosession will be offered for the Faculties of Science and Agriculture and Environmental Sciences in the near future. Participants from all Faculties welcome at both Infosessions.

Many federal and provincial agencies offer research funding that requires industry cash contributions; by leveraging multiple different funding sources, you can maximize the amount of money available to support your research. In this Infosession, we will discuss:

  • How can collaborating within McGill leverage existing expertise and make your project more competitive?
  • How do I identify and initiate contact with potential industrial partners?
  • What federal and provincial programs are available for leveraging industrial cash contributions (e.g. NSERC Engage, Mitacs, CRD and provincial consortia)?
  • What are the challenges in multi-partner collaborations?

Researchers from McGill’s Faculty of Engineering who have successful industrial collaborations (including large-scale projects supported by 3 or more sources of funding) will share their experiences and answer questions about how to maximize funding for research partnerships and collaborate successfully with industry.

Agenda for infosession:
