Clinical Outreach Seminar Series Fall 2013

The School of Communication Sciences and Disorders is pleased to welcome Dr. Jon Preston as the Fall 2013 speaker in our Clinical Outreach Seminar Series.

"Evidence-based update on ultrasound biofeedback for treating speech sound errors"

Abstract: Several small-scale studies have provided evidence for the use of ultrasound for treating speech sound errors.  This presentation will highlight previous research on ultrasound visual feedback and will discuss the current state of the literature on ultrasound biofeedback.  Examples will be provided of research on ultrasound biofeedback for school-age children with childhood apraxia of speech (Preston, Brick & Landi, in press) and an adult with acquired apraxia of speech.  Preliminary data from an ongoing study with school-age children with residual speech sound errors will also be presented.
