Begin planning your career strategy as soon as possible to identify possible career paths and build a strong portfolio. Discuss career paths with advisors and make use of the McGill Career & Planning Services (CaPS) early and often to get a head start on career planning and job searching.

The McGill Career & Planning Services (CaPS) offers range of services and resources for graduate students, including 1-on-1 consultations with Graduate Career Advisors, CV drop-in sessions, tailored resources for SIS students, meeting rooms for interviews, job and internship postings, and more.

Career Fair

The Career Fair is a major recruiting and networking event held every early spring. This annual student-run event gives employers from in and around Quebec the chance to showcase their career opportunities and summer jobs to talented students and upcoming graduates of SIS and other participating institutions.

Networking

Get involved with a student association, professional chapter, or group to build leadership skills and network. SIS student groups offer various events and programs throughout the year, including workshops, professional panels. and mentoring programs for SIS students such as the Canadian Library Association (CLA) McGill Student Chapter's Professional Partnering Program.
