"I’m excited about the leadership stream", Jacoba Barber-Rozema, Classic Voice Performance

Photo of the student who wrote this testimonial1. How do you define personal/academic/
professional success?

I think success in all of these categories is interlinked. In order to do well academically, you have to be able to be professional and personable and vice versa.

2. What type of skills would you like to develop before graduating to maximize your personal/academic/professional success?

I’d like to be very confident in my knowledge of the customs of job seeking and interviewing, understand the structure of the kinds of companies and jobs I would be applying to and tap into what kind of attributes make you indispensable in the workplace. I’d love to gain insight into professional conflict-resolution and to use the resources McGill has to build up my profile as a young professional.

3. Which stream are you most excited about and why?

I’m excited about the leadership stream. Leadership is always something that has come naturally to me in group scenarios, but it would be great to learn about the skillset required of leaders.
