Glossary

Co-curricular record: McGill’s co-curricular record (CCR) is an official document that recognizes student involvement in learning opportunities outside the classroom. For more information, click here.

Co-curricular record credit: A notation on the co-curricular record (CCR) indicating completion of a workshop or program milestone. 

Facilitator: A person who delivers a workshop to participants.

Learning outcomes: Clear statements of the knowledge, competencies or skills that participants are expected to have acquired by the end of a workshop (e.g., "By the end of this workshop, participants should be able to...").

Partner: A McGill unit or individual who offers a SKILLS21 workshop or contributes to the development of the program.

Skill: The ability to use knowledge to successfully complete a particular task. This may pertain to knowledge of particular concepts, technical abilities, and/or interpersonal skills.

Stream: A group of workshops that focuses on a particular category of skills.

Transferable skill: An ability that is applicable in a variety of environments, including professional, academic and/or personal contexts.

Unit: A McGill organization or group (e.g., a faculty or school, administrative office, student service, student association).

Workshop: An event aimed at facilitating skill development.
