University College London

An exciting opportunity in the heart of London!

As part of UCL's study abroad offering, the summer school runs in July and August and is divided into two sessions, each spanning three weeks. Choose to attend one session, or both, selecting one course per session.

With a wide range of courses on offer from many of our academic departments, you can choose the subject best suited to your academic or personal interests. Most courses are Level 1, introductory courses meaning you can choose to study a subject you have no prior knowledge of! There are also some Level 2 courses which do require some prior subject knowledge.

Courses are taught by UCL academics on the Bloomsbury campus in central London and include lectures, seminars, group work and (where possible) visits to areas of interest in London.

Students should have completed one year of undergraduate studies at their home institution, with a GPA of 3.3 or equivalent. All courses are taught in English; non-native speakers will have to meet the English-language requirement found on the program website.

Outside of the classroom, we offer dedicated accommodation in the heart of London and a varied programme of social events.

Highlights:

  • Experience life as a Londoner while living with fellow students in one of UCL's city-centre residences. Accommodation is within walking distance to campus and features private, en suite bedrooms.
  • Study and gain credit at one of the world's leading universities (ranked 8th in the world by QS in 2020): All modules are taught by academics from UCL's renowned faculties!
  • UCL offers courses in a wide range of disciplines and students benefit form an unrivalled choice of summer modules; all of which carry the same academic rigour as a UCL undergraduate module.
  • Make friends and lifelong contacts from around the world: The 2018 UCL Summer School welcomed students from 52 countries and 99% said they'd recommend the programme to a friend!
