Lauren Harnish

Lauren holds a B. A. in Art History from Queen’s University with a minor in Psychology. Her academic interests include visual representation, how gender is socially constructed and embodied, phenomenology, theories of time and the interface between science and art. Under the supervision of Dr. Mary Hunter, Lauren is currently studying the relationship between Degas’s photographic experimentation and his late paintings. This relationship has led her to consider how Degas uses these media to construct images of women through the lens of spatializing strategies and theories of perception.
