Farzin Khosrow-Khavar

Dr. Farzin Khosrow-Khavar is an Epidemiologist and Senior Data Analyst at Gerald Bronfman Department of Oncology. Farzin provides consultations regarding study design and statistical analysis to faculty in the department. He conducts data management and statistical analysis of randomized controlled trials and observational studies. Farzin works with faculty members in various divisions including medical oncology, radiation oncology, hematology, surgical oncology, and the Rossy Cancer Network. Farzin also teaches epidemiology and biostatistics to medical practitioners and residents. He also conducts independent projects with the Division of Cancer Epidemiology.

Dr. Farzin Khosrow-Khavar obtained a BSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from University of Victoria (2006), MSc in Biochemistry from University of British Columbia (2011) and PhD in Epidemiology from McGill University (2020). For his doctoral thesis, Farzin examined the cardiovascular safety of aromatase inhibitors and tamoxifen in hormone receptor-positive breast cancer. He developed expertise in conducting observational studies using electronic medical records and administrative databases. His expertise also spans using propensity score and g-methods to answer etiologic questions in observational studies.
