Drought Training Workshop

Jamaica, May 23-25, 2012

With experts from the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology, the US National Drought Mitigation Center, and the Climate Studies Group Mona (UWI, Jamaica), this workshop brought participants up-to-date with the state-of-the-art in drought monitoring and early warning. Through technical presentations, dicussions and working groups, the participants and leaders worked towards creating the main elements of drought policy and plans for their countries and towards developing national networks for drought monitoring. CARIWIN sponsored participants from partner countries Grenada and Jamaica.
