Workshop registration: Analyzing census data in R

This year, we will have full access to the Canadian census 2021. It is time to brush up on your skills to access the data with R! In this workshop you will learn how to efficiently find and extract census data and its geographical boundaries in R not just for the Canadian census, but also for the US and EU censuses.

At the end of this workshop, you will be able to
      · find and extract data efficiently from the Canadian census
      · find and extract data efficiently from the US census
      · find and extract data efficiently from the Eurostat census
      · extract geographic boundary files, combine them with census data and display them in a map

Pre-requisites: basic understanding of R, e.g. through the CDSI workshop "Introduction to data science with R".

Date: Thursday May 12th, 2022.
Time: 11AM to 13PM.
Location: classroom BH511 (Burnside Hall, 5th floor, inside the Geographic Information Center).
Instructor: Dr. Tim Elrick, Director of the Geographic Information Centre.

This workshop is offered for free by the Faculty of Science to the McGill community. Due to the limited amount of spots available, if you sign up for a workshop and don't show up, you will not be allowed to attend another workshop this semester.
