Bernard Charlin

BERNARD CHARLIN, MD, FRCPC, MA, PhD is Professor within the department of Surgery at the University of Montreal. Trained in Montpellier, France, as a head and neck surgeon, he obtained a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard University (Concentration in Research Methodology) in 1994, and a PhD in Education at the University of Maastricht in 2002. He belongs to the University of Montreal since 1998 where he is Head of the Unit of research and Development in Health Sciences Education. His research field is assessment in situation of uncertainty. He has written more than one hundred articles in the scientific literature. He is co-founder (2000) of the international journal Pédagogie Médicale and co-founder (2003) of the “Société Internationale Francophone d’Éducation Médicale” (SIFEM).
