MIND MATTERS: THE BODY-MIND CONNECTION is the theme of the the 2017 Trottier Public Science Symposium. The symposium will focus on the roles of both the body and mind when it comes to health. 

Speakers are Dr. Amir Raz, Professor of Psychiatry, Neurology & Neurosurgery and Psychology at McGill University, Dr. Marla Shapiro, medical correspondent for CTV News, and Dr. Patch Adams, founder of The Gesundheit! Institute and best known for Robin Williams' portrayal of him in the 1998 film, Patch Adams. The evening will be moderated by Dr. Joe Schwarcz, Director of McGill's Office for Science and Society. For more information on the speakers, please visit the Trottier Symposium website.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Monday, October 23
7pm - 9pm: Dr. Marla Shapiro, "Work Life Balance...Mind over Body", and Dr. Amir Raz, "The Placebo Effect"

Tuesday, October 24
1:30pm - 3pm: Roundtable session (McGill Faculty Club, Billiard Room, 3450 McTavish St, Montreal, Quebec H3A 1X9)
7pm - 9pm: Dr. Patch Adams - "Humour and Health"

Evening presentations will be held at the Centre Mont-Royal, 1000 Sherbrooke St. W.

The presentations will be live streamed.

Books written by all presenters will be sold at the Symposium.

All symposium events are open to the public and free of charge. There are no tickets and no reservations are required. Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis. So please arrive early!
