Beyond the Gates: Identifying your career goals

Location: McGill Student Service Building (3600 McTavish St, Brown Bldg, Room 5001)

Curious about career options other than academia? In order to identify career options that will fit you, you need to identify your goals. Using hands-on activities, this workshop will give participants the opportunity to reflect on your skills, career needs, and interests. Based on your understanding these aspects of yourself, we will explore what sectors, industries, and job roles you might be best suited to.  We will then begin drafting a career-focused individual development plan.

By attending this workshop, students will be able to:
1) Identify the skills and interests they would like to demonstrate in their career
2) Understand their core career-related values and prioritize what they are seeking to gain from their career
3) Identify potential industries and roles that are aligned with their skills, interests, and values
4) Begin developing an individual development plan
