Intellectual Property: “What’s in it for you?”

This workshop aims to provide students and researchers with a general overview of Intellectual Property through a presentation from a patent agent and participating in an engaging discussion of real-world examples with experienced discussion leaders.

The workshop is offered by the Canadian Intellectual Property Office, and is delivered by Hugh Mansfield, an experienced Patent and Trade Mark Lawyer. Hugh Mansfield has been practicing in the intellectual property field since 2000. He is a lawyer and a registered patent agent in both Canada and the United States. Before practicing in intellectual property, Hugh Mansfield worked for over six years in Germany within a major systems house, developing both air-ground data links and software simulating data communications in the aviation field. He became a partner of the firm in 2005 and was appointed senior partner on January 1, 2008.
