Organ Discovery Day

In collaboration with the Canadian International Organ Competition, the Schulich School of Music is offering an introduction to the organ for high schoolers & Cégep students.

Join us for presentations on improvisation, organ-building, as well as open console time and an afternoon concert at the Maison Symphonique! See the full schedule of activities below.

Join us as we explore the possibilities of the King of Instruments!

*Experience with the organ is not required.
** Parents must be in attendance with minors.


Schedule

1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. | Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul (3415, rue Redpath)
Improvisation with Jason Roberts

2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. | Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul
Orgelkids with Maria Gajraj

3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. | Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul
Supervised open console time

Participants are encouraged to bring pieces that they can try out

4:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. | Break and transition to the Maison Symphonique

NB: We will be walking from Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul to the Maison symphonique, approximately 20 minutes, please dress accordingly!

4:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. | Maison symphonique (1600, rue Saint-Urbain)
Recital | Samuel Lee | Free admission

5:40 p.m.-6:00 p.m. | Maison symphonique 
TBC Visit of the organ

6:00 p.m.-6:15 p.m. | Break and transition to the Schulich School of Music

NB: We will be walking from the Maison symphonique to the Schulich School of Music, approximately 10 minutes, please dress accordingly!
