PhD Oral Defense of Sebastian Xavier Margarit, Department of Natural Resource Sciences.

Potato is a high value crop of economic significance in Atlantic Canada. The nutritional status of the plant is related to the outcome of key yield parameters of significance for potato producers with B and Zn being the most consistently influential. Potato petiole sampling is commonly used to assess the crop’s nutritional status. Multivariate analyses of the potato petiole ionome can improve the resolution and methodology in determining ideal nutrient concentrations. The objective of this study is to use discriminant analysis in order to classify fields by total yield and specific gravity based on the potato petiole ionome.

Everyone in the McGill community is welcome to attend a PhD oral defense. Please join us in celebrating the accomplishments of our PhD candidates.
