Educational Objectives:

  1. Evaluate the current literature to determine the safety and efficacy of using subcutaneous insulin compared to a continuous insulin infusion in the management of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA).
  2. Review the new subcutaneous insulin protocol for the management of mild to moderate diabetic ketoacidosis at the Jewish General Hospital.
